’Needling’ is a method that is increasingly used in cosmetic dermatology. The procedure is based on the skin’s very own regenerative capacity: A dermapen (pen) equipped with numerous short needles is moved over the area of skin to be treated. The tiny needles cause a large quantity of very superficial ‘puncture wounds’ but leave the deeper skin layers untouched. The skin cells, subsequently, are encouraged to produce collagen which ‘rejuvenates’ the skin. The effects become visible after a few weeks. The healing process can be accelerated by adding sera such as hyaluronic acid.
For cosmetic needling, we use a pen with a depth of 0.25 to 1.5 mm. We will chose the appropriate pen depending on the area of skin (face, neck, décolleté) to be treated.
We will discuss with you the results of your skin examination and possible treatment objectives.
